Productive and Economic Potential Assessment of Maize (Zea mays L.) Varieties under Fertilizers Influence in the Coastal Zone of Togo

The sustainable improvement of maize productivity and smallholders’ incomes to contribute food security is the objective this study carried out over two consecutive years (2020 2021) at University Lomé Agronomic Experiment Station. experiment was set up in a split-plot design, composed sixteen (16) treatments three (03) replicates each. Four varieties: Ikenné (V1) Tzee (V2), Sotubaka (V3) Sammaz 52 (V4) four fertilization schemes: 0 kgha-1 (F0); 200 NPK: 15-15-15+100 urea 46%N (F1); 6 000 chicken dungs (F2) small ruminant (F3) were studied factors. Maize grain yields determined, an economic analysis done. results showed that varieties schemes significantly affected yields. most productive variety during experiment. average yield obtained under V3 (3.56±0.65 t ha-1) higher than those Ikenné, respectively by 20, 57 5%. recorded F2 F0, F1 F3 54, 3 17% respectively. On 2-year basis, application (F1) gave highest V1 (3.43±0.13 V2 (2.60±0.15 ha-1); while (4.29±0.12 V4 (3.95±0.11 with supply (F2). same profits (343 FCFA ha-1=US$ 512.46) (177 264.45) F1. For (480 717.14) (415 620.03), profit F2. successful cultivation, it advisable use for Ikenne varieties.
